Why I Started Main & Market Properties: And What It Means to Be Your St. Louis Real Estate Advisor

By Aaron Mueller | Main & Market Properties | St. Louis, MO

I didn't get into real estate because I needed a job. I got into it because I genuinely love this city, I love helping people, and I figured out early on that those two things together could build something worth being proud of.

That's the short version. Here's the longer one.

St. Louis Is Home: And That Matters More Than You Think

I was born and raised in the St. Louis area. I know the difference between a Kirkwood block and a Webster Groves block. I know which neighborhoods in St. Louis City are turning, which ones have been undervalued for years, and which suburban pockets in St. Louis County are quietly becoming the most competitive markets in the region. I know the schools, the commutes, the flood plain quirks, the tuckpointing issues that come with older brick homes, and the mechanicals you need to ask about before you fall in love with a house.

That's not something you learn in a licensing course. That's something you absorb from living here, caring about here, and spending years walking through homes across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County with clients who trusted me to help them make one of the biggest decisions of their lives.

When you work with me, you're not getting a generic agent who happened to hang a license in Missouri. You're getting someone who is genuinely invested in this place.

Why I Started Main & Market Properties

Before I founded Main & Market Properties, I saw a gap in how real estate was being done in St. Louis. Too transactional. Too impersonal. Too focused on the close and not enough on the client.

I believe real estate should feel personal not like a transaction that's done with you the moment you sign at the closing table. I've had clients come back to me three, four, six times. I still check in on past clients months after their sale just to see how they're doing. That's not a strategy that's just how I was raised to treat people.

The name "Main & Market" is intentional. Main St. and the Market St. community and commerce, relationships and results. That's the balance I try to strike every single day.

What You Can Actually Expect When You Work With Me

I want to be upfront about a few things, because I think honesty is the foundation of a good working relationship:

I will tell you what I actually think. If a home has issues you should know about aging mechanicals, tuckpointing concerns, a neighborhood dynamic that might affect resale I'm going to tell you. I'm not here to talk you into a house. I'm here to help you find the right one.

I will be available. Real estate doesn't run on banker's hours, and neither do I. When you're in the middle of a transaction and something comes up, you'll be able to reach me.

I will work hard to get you results. We've helped over 55 families buy and sell in 2025 alone, with $25 million in volume. Most of our listings sell over asking price, many on the first day of showing. That doesn't happen by accident it happens because of pricing strategy, preparation, and marketing that actually works.

I will treat you like family. That's not a tagline. Ask Briana, who said our first meeting calmed all her nerves about selling. Ask David, who was in a panic when his family was expecting and needed to find a home fast. Ask Carrie, who has done six transactions with me. The goal is always the same: make you feel like you're my only client.

The Team Behind the Name

I'm proud to work alongside Nick Brohammer, a young, sharpshooter real estate advisor who brings his own expertise to our buyer and seller clients, and Amy Reed, our office manager who keeps everything running with precision and warmth. When you work with Main & Market, you're getting a team not just one person running in every direction.

We're also affiliated with Compass, one of the most innovative real estate brokerages in the country, which gives our clients access to tools, technology, and marketing resources that independent agents simply can't match.

What's Coming on This Blog

I'm launching this blog because I want to give you something useful not just listings and market numbers, but real insight into what's happening in St. Louis real estate and how to navigate it.

Here's what you can expect from me here:

  • Neighborhood guides deep dives into what it's actually like to live in Soulard, The Hill, Tower Grove, Clayton, Kirkwood, Webster Groves, and beyond
  • Buyer and seller education honest answers to the questions people are afraid to ask their agent
  • St. Louis market updates  monthly breakdowns of what's happening with inventory, pricing, and interest rates in our specific market
  • My honest take  on trends, timing, and what I'm seeing on the ground every day

My goal is simple: by the time you're ready to buy or sell, you'll already trust me  because I've been showing up and giving you real information for free, with no strings attached.
